Polk County 4-H Club Information:
Membership into the Polk
County
4-H clubs is open to all youth of Polk County ages 9 to 19 as of
January
1st. 4-H clubs are organized in all Polk County
schools.
Youth not enrolled in the Polk County School System is welcome to join
the County-Wide 4-H Club. 4-H members are asked to select a
project
area for their 4-H club project. The 4-H club offers projects in
areas ranging from arts & crafts to wildlife. For more
information
about the 4-H clubs contact the Polk County Agricultural Extension
Service.

Projects: March, 2007
The March 4-H Club project will be the 4-H Dairy Poster Contest.
The following are the rules for the contest.
1. Poster size = 14X 22 inches
2. Theme: “Got Flavored milk?.”
3. No Cartoon figures or copyright materials can be used on your poster.
4. No 3-D Posters
5. Awards =
Club Winners = Ribbons
County Winner: 1st = $15 and a
T-Shirt
2nd = $10
3rd = $5
State Winner:
1st = $500
2nd = $250
3rd = $150

4th Grade = The remaining parts to the Exploring 4-H Book.
5th Grade = Food Safety Assignment
6th Grade = Saving Assignment
7th Grade = County Gov. Worksheet
Home school Club= Announced in Club Meeting
Service Project March, 2007
The March service project will be a “Conduct your Own Service
Project”. 4-H members are asked to conduct service projects on
their own or in groups. Keep the number of hours that you spend
conducting service projects and your club will earn one point for every
hour of service.
