Fleas indoors: Sprinkle Household Borax on your carpet and let sit for a little bit. Vacuum up. The Borax will kill the fleas by drying out (dessicating) their shell.

Homemade Carpet Freshener/Deodorizer: Mix 50% Household Borax with 50% Baking Soda. Sprinkle on carpet as you would any powder and then vacuum up. (A small amount of ground up orange peel or citrus oil can be added and will help the odor and further repel fleas)

Dog "Skunk Smell" Deodorizer- Add 1/4 cup Baking Soda and 1/2 teaspoon soap (Organic Dog Shampoo) to one quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide solution. Apply to dog and then rinse with tap water.

Information on Ingredients:

Citrus Oil (d-Limonene)- This natural Oil is found in the peels of citrus fruits, such as lemons, oranges and grapefruits. The oil has the characteristic citrus smell. Fleas hate d-limonene as it will kill them upon prolonged contact. They generally head the other way when they encounter this oil.
